Power house designers don’t always come packaged with bright smiles and long blonde hair. Karen Sealy is a little bit of an anomaly in this case, being that she can strut in heels and swing a hammer like a workhorse, all in a day’s work.
In addition to making regular TV appearances on CityLine, and overseeing her Toronto based design firm Sealy Design Inc., Karen has launched a new TV series on HGTV, chronicling her adventures in cottage renovation.
On Friday (June 3, 2011) I joined Karen and the rest of her team to celebrate the series premier of her new show Summer Home. Along with a dozen other local blogging ladies, we got to preview the show at her Danforth office, which proceeded with a Q & A session, cocktails, guacamole, and finally lunch.
Afternoon highlight: the Sealy Slammer! A wonderful cocktail, sweet to the taste, and refreshing for the hot summer sun.
